Web Desk: Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar expressed grief and solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam attack, marking the anniversary of one of the deadliest incidents in the region in decades.

The attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, killed 26 people, most of them tourists. The incident drew widespread attention due to its scale and the targeting of civilians in a popular travel destination.

In a statement issued on the anniversary, Tarar conveyed condolences to those affected and reiterated Pakistan’s support for the victims and their families.

At the same time, Tarar criticised India’s policies, stating that New Delhi had faced setbacks during what he described as “Marka-e-Haq.” He added that India would continue to fail in what he termed its strategy of terrorism.

He also referred to past confrontations, asserting that Pakistan had achieved success that was recognised internationally.

Tarar credited the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif along with the country’s military command for guiding Pakistan through recent challenges. He said the country is now focused on promoting peace and stability in the region.

However, the minister cautioned that any future action by India would draw a swift and decisive response. He emphasised that Pakistan’s political and military leadership remain aligned on matters of national defense.

His remarks come amid continued tensions in South Asia, where incidents such as the Pahalgam attack continue to influence regional security dynamics and diplomatic narratives.
