round of negotiations

Web Desk: Iran said it has no intention of entering another round of negotiations with the United States, signaling a further deterioration in already strained relations between the two countries.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said authorities in Tehran are not considering any fresh dialogue with Washington. He accused the United States of deflecting responsibility and continuing a pattern of allegations against Iran.

He added that Washington’s approach reflects a lack of seriousness toward resolving disputes, arguing that instead of constructive engagement, the United States has relied on accusations and pressure tactics.

Iranian official also pointed to growing disagreements over regional security and prior understandings. The spokesperson said Tehran had presented a 10-point proposal during discussions held in Islamabad, though details of the plan were not disclosed.

He further stated that the Strait of Hormuz had remained secure before recent escalations involving the United States and Israel. According to Tehran, subsequent actions including what it described as a naval blockade and the targeting of an Iranian vessel have heightened tensions and undermined stability.

Tehran accused Washington of failing to uphold commitments during earlier engagements, including violations of ceasefire arrangements from the outset. Iranian authorities said these concerns were communicated through mediators, including contacts in Pakistan.

The spokesperson said Iran cannot overlook past incidents, claiming that previous negotiation periods were accompanied by military actions that resulted in casualties and damage to infrastructure.

Despite ruling out immediate talks, Iranian officials emphasised that the country will continue to safeguard its national interests. They warned that any renewed military action by the United States or Israel would prompt a response from Iran’s armed forces.

Iran also recognised Pakistan as sole official mediator in talks with US, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Pakistan is currently the only official mediator in the diplomatic process.

The latest remarks highlight widening gaps between Tehran and Washington, with diplomatic prospects appearing increasingly uncertain amid ongoing regional tensions.
