Web Desk: Pakistani actor and singer Aashir Wajahat has addressed ongoing speculation about his relationship with fellow young actor Areeka Haq, stating that the two share “only a good friendship.”
Speaking in a recent YouTube interview, Wajahat responded to persistent social media rumors linking him romantically with Haq. He explained that fans often project on-screen chemistry or public interactions into real-life relationships.
“Fans like to see their favorite celebrities together off-screen as well,” Wajahat said. “That’s why people imagine us as a couple.”
However, he clarified that there is no romantic involvement. “I take it as love from fans, but the reality is that Areeka and I are just good friends,” he added.
The actor also emphasized that he does not view such speculation negatively. Instead, he considers it a reflection of audience engagement and affection toward their favorite stars.
Wajahat began his career at a young age with the film Karachi Se Aagay, produced by his parents, filmmaker Wajahat Rauf and producer Shazia Wajahat. Since then, he has gained recognition through projects including the drama series Pinjra.
Currently, he is drawing attention for his role as “Subook” in recent projects. In addition, his song Sadqay has become widely popular among younger audiences, further cementing his growing presence in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
