Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Salman Akram Raja has said that he will submit his resignation during his meeting with the party’s founding chairman.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Salman Akram Raja said that the PTI founder’s sisters had approached him and asked him to work with them. He added that Aleema Khan and the sisters do not fully understand political matters, and that the PTI founder had entrusted him with the responsibility of the position.

He further stated that whenever he meets the founding chairman, he will resign, expressing hope that the chairman will accept his request. He emphasized that politics is best understood by experienced individuals, adding that figures like Allama Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Achakzai had been deliberately intimidated, and that they should be taken along together.

Separately, Barrister Gohar said that Bushra Bibi has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Salman Akram Raja also said that there are no serious differences between him and Aleema Khan, calling it a temporary reaction. He added that Aleema Khan had called around 10,000 people, and perhaps they did not show up, which may have upset her.

It is worth noting that no single party leader went to Adiala Jail yesterday for scheduled meeting with Imran Khan. The party had submitted a list of six leaders to prison authorities for the meeting. The names included Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja (Secretary General), Hamid Khan, Latif Khosa, Babar Awan, and Intizar Hussain Panjutha.

However, none of the listed leaders arrived at the jail before the scheduled meeting time ended. This was the second such instance in the past three years when no party leader showed up for a meeting.

Sources said that tensions developed between central party leaders and Aleema Khan after a prior meeting between the party founder and Salman Safdar, which may have led to the absence of leaders on the meeting day.
