Web Desk: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Qatar on Thursday, where he is expected to hold high-level talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, officials said.

Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received the prime minister and his delegation upon arrival in Doha, according to officials. A ceremonial guard of Qatar’s armed forces also presented a salute to the visiting Pakistani delegation.

Officials said parts of Doha airport and sections of the city were decorated with Pakistani flags ahead of the visit, reflecting what they described as a warm reception.

During the visit, Sharif is scheduled to meet the Qatari emir for discussions on bilateral relations, as well as regional and global peace efforts. Officials said the two leaders are expected to exchange views on ongoing diplomatic initiatives in the region.

The visit comes as Pakistan continues to engage with key regional partners on economic cooperation and security-related matters.

The prime minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Prime Minister’s spokesperson for international media Musharraf Zaidi, officials said.

They added that the delegation will participate in meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation and expanding diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
