Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the nation, said that the talks held in Islamabad are a moment of pride not only for Pakistan but for the entire Muslim world.
Explaining the reasons behind the move, the Prime Minister said that the government decided to pass on the benefit of declining global oil prices to the people.
He added that improved economic indicators, a stable exchange rate, and better fiscal management also made it possible to reduce prices.
He further noted that the government is committed to controlling inflation and reducing the cost of living, especially for the common man who has been under pressure due to rising expenses.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that the reduction in diesel prices will directly lower transportation and logistics costs, which is expected to bring down the prices of essential commodities across the country.
More details regarding the relief measures are expected to be shared soon.
