⏱ 1 minute read

Islamabad: Muhammad Ali Randhawa, a Grade 20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of Passport and Immigration.
The federal government has issued a notification regarding his appointment.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assigned the newly appointed DG, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the task of introducing reforms at every level in the Passport and Immigration department.

He also directed that the passport and immigration system be fully digitized across the country and made completely paperless.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that public convenience should be given top priority in the Passport and Immigration system.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has faced persistent challenges in recent years, including long processing delays, system inefficiencies, and complaints from citizens regarding overcrowding and slow service delivery at passport offices.

At times, applicants have had to wait weeks or even months to receive their passports, causing difficulties for overseas workers, students, and travelers.
