Iran welcomes Pakistan’s peace initiative

⏱ 2 minute read

Web Desk: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Pakistan’s diplomatic mediation on Tuesday. This move signals a potential breakthrough in the month-long conflict involving the United States and Israel.

Mohammad Reza Bahrami, the Assistant Foreign Minister for South Asia, praised Islamabad’s peace initiatives. He stated that Iran supports efforts to halt aggression by the U.S. and the Zionist regime. Furthermore, he noted that these efforts must respect Iran’s legitimate national rights.

Consequently, this diplomatic endorsement highlights the growing importance of regional solutions. Bahrami emphasized that such an approach paves the way for strengthening peace. In addition, he believes these steps will reduce high-level tensions and restore regional stability.

These statements follow reports that Pakistan is actively relaying U.S. proposals to Tehran. For instance, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently offered to host meaningful and conclusive talks. These efforts gained urgency as the conflict continues to disrupt global energy markets.

Meanwhile, diplomatic sources indicate that Pakistan is coordinating closely with Turkey and Egypt. Their goal is to bring all parties to the negotiation table. Although the U.S. administration expressed openness to dialogue, Tehran previously showed caution. However, Bahrami’s latest comments suggest a softening of that stance in favor of Islamabad’s mediation.

The conflict has already seen significant military exchanges and strikes on Iranian infrastructure. By backing Pakistan’s framework, Tehran now appears to be seeking a strategic exit. Therefore, this support preserves its core interests while avoiding further escalation.

Currently, officials in Islamabad remain on high alert during these sensitive discussions. They continue to urge all sides to exercise restraint. As a result, the world remains focused on whether these negotiations will lead to a formal ceasefire.
