Web Desk: A medical report for Bushra Bibi, the wife of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has revealed significant vision impairment following an examination at Adiala Jail.

On Saturday, Dr. Arif Khan, an eye specialist from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), conducted a detailed check-up of the former first lady. According to the findings, Bushra Bibi is suffering from “Posterior Vitreous Detachment” in her right eye. This condition has caused noticeable blurring and the appearance of dark spots in her field of vision. Furthermore, the report notes that she is experiencing frequent light flashes and persistent headaches.

Beyond the retinal issue, doctors also diagnosed her with “Myopia” and “Astigmatism.” These conditions typically affect a patient’s ability to see objects clearly at a close range. Consequently, the medical team has prescribed the regular use of corrective glasses along with specific eye drops and other medications to manage her symptoms.

This development follows months of concern regarding the health of both the former prime minister and his spouse. Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Imran Khan himself had lost nearly 85% of the vision in his right eye due to a retinal vein blockage. While jail authorities maintain that both high-profile prisoners receive treatment according to prison rules, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party continues to raise alarms about “inhumane treatment” and inadequate medical care.

Ultimately, the medical team advised a follow-up examination in four weeks to monitor her progress. Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court is scheduled to hear appeals regarding the couple’s legal cases on March 31.
