A joint peace declaration has been issued by a group of selected religious scholars (ulema) from Pakistan and Afghanistan, aimed at promoting religious harmony, peace, and mutual trust in the region.

The scholars emphasized that establishing peace, stability, and brotherhood in the region is in the interest of not only both countries but the entire region.

The declaration further states that in the current circumstances, it is essential to resolve misunderstandings between the two countries, promote mutual trust, and take serious steps toward addressing shared issues. The scholars stated that Islam teaches peace, brotherhood, and justice; therefore, both scholars and the public must promote these values and avoid any form of unrest or discord.
