Web Desk: Security forces eliminated at least 35 terrorists belonging to the Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK) group during a high-stakes intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Shaban ranges of Loralai, officials confirmed Friday.

The operation commenced after security agencies received credible leads regarding a significant presence of militants in the rugged mountainous terrain. Following the verification of this data, combat teams from the security forces mobilized and moved to the location to neutralise the threat.

Upon reaching the target area, a fierce gunbattle erupted between the troops and the terrorists. During the ensuing firefight, security forces successfully sent 35 FAK terrorists to hell, while approximately 20 to 25 others sustained critical injuries.

This successful strike comes as part of a broader, intensified counter-terrorism campaign aimed at dismantling extremist networks in the province. Consequently, the area has been cordoned off as military units conduct a sanitization sweep to ensure no remnants of the group remain in the vicinity.

Furthermore, officials emphasized that the “hunt continues” for the surviving militants who fled the initial engagement. The Shaban ranges, known for their difficult geography, have historically been used by various splinter groups for cover, yet recent intelligence-driven maneuvers have increasingly restricted their operational capacity.

Security analysts view this IBO as a major blow to FAK’s infrastructure in Northern Balochistan. Meanwhile, the military remains on high alert, reinforcing border security and mountain passes to prevent any potential regrouping of the wounded cadres.
