Web Desk: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise based in Rawalpindi has clarified its team name, reducing recent confusion among fans and media.

The new franchise, initially called the “Pindies,” updated its social media profiles to reflect the name “Rawalpindis.” Sources said league officials instructed the team to include the city’s full name in all official communications.

PSL management had consistently used “Rawalpindi Pindies” in its press releases, while the franchise had not made a formal public announcement about the name change.

The move comes as the league expands its franchise base and aims to maintain consistent branding across all teams. Fans responded positively to the clarification, saying the change better represents the city in the competition.

League officials did not provide further details but confirmed that the name update aligns with PSL’s branding guidelines.
