DHAKA: Captain of Pakistan’s ODI team, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has announced that three players will make their debut in the upcoming one-day series against Bangladesh.
Speaking at a press conference in Dhaka, Afridi said that no established players have been dropped for this series, but the team management wants to give opportunities to young talent.
“These players will strengthen the team in the future. We are preparing the squad for the upcoming World Cup and testing combinations to find the best lineup,” he added.
The three debutants for the series are Moiz Siddiqat, Sahibzada Farhan, and Shael Hussain. Afridi confirmed that Moiz Siddiqat will open the batting, while Shael Hussain will bat in the one-down position.
Afridi also noted that the selected players have experience in List A cricket and Pakistan Shaheens tours, with some, including Moiz Siddiqat and Sahibzada Farhan, having already played here.
Responding to a question, Afridi said that every team performs better in home conditions, and Pakistan will decide the playing XI based on team requirements and pitch conditions.
