CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz women day message

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to women in Punjab and around the world in her special message on International Women’s Day, saying that she is not only Punjab’s first woman chief minister but also the voice of every woman who had been suppressed.

She said that the daughter of Punjab is no longer weak but has become the strongest arm of the state, adding that women are not victims but nation builders. From education, protection and healthcare facilities to corridors of power, women in Punjab today are empowered, she added.

Maryam Nawaz stated that the daughters of Punjab are no longer treated merely as statistics but have been transformed into policymakers, protectors and thinkers. She said that under her supervision, no one would dare cast an evil eye on any daughter of Punjab.

She further said that the daughters of Punjab are her “red line” and no compromise will be made on their dignity and respect. Women in Punjab have not only been encouraged to dream but also taught how to turn those dreams into reality.

The chief minister also announced that widowed women in Punjab would no longer be left alone, as the government is introducing the “Rehmat Card” for them. She added that initiatives such as Wi-Fi access, laptops, e-bikes, and the “Honhaar Scholarship” have been ensured for women in the province.

Maryam Nawaz also highlighted security measures such as the “Pink Button” safety initiative and said that Punjab’s first Women Virtual Police Station has been established to provide round-the-clock protection and assistance to women.
