Web Desk: Security forces foiled an attempted cross-border infiltration near the Pishin along the Afghan frontier, killing seven suspected terrorists in an overnight operation, security officials said on Thursday.

Officials said the group, affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), attempted to enter Pakistani territory from Afghanistan with the intent to carry out sabotage attacks.

Security sources said forces detected and targeted a seven-member formation near the border before it could cross into Pakistani territory. All seven militants were killed at the scene.

The operation took place in a remote border area of Balochistan province, where authorities have stepped up surveillance amid a surge in militant activity.

Moreover, officials said the group acted on the instructions of a commander identified as Basir, who authorities accuse of orchestrating unrest in the region.

Security sources also identified another militant commander, Nasir, as a key planner of previous attacks. They said he was involved in masterminding a Sept. 30 assault on a Frontier Corps headquarters in Balochistan.

Reuters could not independently verify the claims, and there was no immediate comment from militant groups or Afghan authorities.

Security officials said forces employed modern surveillance and defensive measures during the operation to ensure the safety of civilians and personnel in the area.

Following the clash, troops cleared and secured the, declaring it safe. Authorities have since intensified patrols and monitoring along the border to prevent further infiltration attempts.

Pakistan’s military said it remains committed to safeguarding the country’s frontiers and will continue operations until terrorism is eliminated.
