No proof against Pakistan in Adil Raja, Shahzad Akbar’s house attack case

⏱ 2 minute read

Web desk: Seven suspects were presented via video link before London’s Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) in the case concerning alleged attacks on the residences of fugitive individuals Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar.

The accused Asif Afser, Mark Regan, McGree Clark, Liam McAuley, Donito Bramer, Louis Regan and Clark Blackwood appeared before the court from Wandsworth Prison through a video link. Each defendant confirmed their name and residential address. None of them submitted a bail application.

According to the prosecution, the suspects face charges related to alleged attacks and attempts to cause damage at two separate locations during late December and early January. However, during the hearing, neither the official court record nor the prosecution’s submissions made any reference to Pakistan or any Pakistani institution.

It is worth noting that following the alleged incidents, Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja had released videos accusing Pakistan and its institutions of attempting to silence them. Nevertheless, no such claims were mentioned in the recent proceedings at the Old Bailey.

The court announced that the trial of six defendants will begin on April 6 at Birmingham Crown Court, while Donito Bramer’s separate trial is scheduled to commence on June 16, 2027, again at the Old Bailey. The judge instructed the lawyers to submit defense statements and evidence within the stipulated timeframe, warning of legal consequences in case of non compliance. The court clarified that formal trial proceedings will begin in the upcoming hearings.
