Govt to announce Ramadan package for low income families today

Islamabad: The federal government will announce the Ramadan Relief Package today, under which a stipend of Rs 13,000 will be provided to low-income families.


According to sources, a ceremony will be held for the announcement of the Ramadan Relief Package, during which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will formally unveil the package. The event will take place at the Prime Minister’s House.


Speaking on the matter, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a Rs 13,000 stipend under the Ramadan Relief Package. He added that the government has also decided to extend the program to an additional 1.7 million low-income families to provide further relief.


The Ramadan Relief Package aims to reduce the impact of inflation and support deserving families during the holy month of Ramadan.
