Pakistan boycotts, India still heads to Colombo for T20 match

Mumbai: Indian cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav has confirmed that despite Pakistan’s boycott, the Indian team will travel to Sri Lanka to play the World Cup match against their traditional rivals in the T20 World Cup.


In the ICC T20 World Cup group stage, the Pakistan–India match is scheduled for 15 February in Colombo, Sri Lanka.


However, the Government of Pakistan has announced that it will not play the T20 World Cup match against India on Sunday, 15 February. Following Pakistan’s refusal to play India in the group-stage match of the T20 World Cup, the ICC has become concerned.


Reacting to Pakistan’s announcement of not playing the group match against India, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said that despite Pakistan’s boycott decision, the Indian team would travel to Colombo as per the scheduled program for the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan.
