The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest prediction about the sighting of the Ramadan moon, stating that the first fast in Pakistan is expected to be observed on February 19, 2026.

Time of Moon Birth

According to the Meteorological Department, the birth of the Ramadan moon will occur on February 17 at 5:01 PM. Experts say that by the following day, the moon’s age and weather conditions are likely to be favorable for sighting, increasing the chances of visibility.

Possibility of Sighting on February 18

The PMD stated that there was a strong possibility of sighting the Ramadan moon in various parts of Pakistan on February 18. Based on this, the first day of Ramadan is expected to fall on February 19, though the final announcement will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

First Day of Ramadan

Based on astronomical analysis by the Meteorological Department, due to the strong chances of moon sighting on February 18, the first day of Ramadan is likely to be Thursday, February 19. However, the final decision regarding the sighting of the Ramadan moon will be announced after the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
