Web desk: Security officials in Pakistan’s Balochistan province said on Friday that militant groups opposing development projects are working against public welfare and have been exposed as terrorist networks.
Speaking to reporters in Karachi, security sources said the people of Balochistan increasingly recognize that groups claiming to fight injustice are, in fact, engaged in violence and destabilization.
Officials said no large-scale military operation is currently underway in the Tirah region. Instead, forces are relying on intelligence-based operations to target militants, they added.
According to the briefing, such operations have proven the most effective tool against terrorism over the past three years.
Security sources said current weather conditions do not support major ground operations. As a result, authorities continue to prioritize targeted, intelligence-driven actions.
Officials said these operations have also uncovered links between militant groups and organized criminal networks.
Security sources said counterterrorism operations would continue until all militant threats are eliminated.
