medical evacuation of a Sri Lankan

Web Desk: Pakistan Navy ships TABUK and MOAWIN carried out a successful medical evacuation of a Sri Lankan national from the Indonesian-flagged merchant vessel GREY PALM, situated about 800 nautical miles off Gwadar, officials said. The operation followed a formal request from the Sri Lankan Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC).

The crew member was safely transported to the Pakistan Navy vessels, where medical personnel provided immediate treatment. An attendant accompanied the patient during the evacuation to ensure continuous care. Sri Lankan authorities and the patient’s family expressed gratitude for the swift humanitarian response.

Officials said the MEDEVAC demonstrates the Pakistan Navy’s ability to conduct complex operations at extended ranges in the Indian Ocean. The mission reinforces its commitment to protecting life at sea, regardless of nationality.

The operation underscores Pakistan Navy’s long-standing role in maritime safety and humanitarian assistance. It highlights the force’s capacity to respond quickly to emergencies in distant waters, reflecting both operational readiness and international cooperation.
