Web Desk: Nationwide protests against the economic crisis in Iran have not stopped, with 45 people, including security personnel, killed in the protests that have been going on since December 28.

The ongoing protests in Iran have spread to 27 provinces, where shopkeepers and citizens are holding protests at different places on a daily basis. During the latest protests, protesters burned tires in major cities and blocked roads.

According to Iranian media, armed miscreants also pelted stones and opened fire on the police during the protests.

Additional police and security personnel have been deployed across the country to control the violent protests and prevent them from spreading further.

The wave of the recent protest begin on late December 2025, when shopkeepers and business community shut their stores and took to the streets in response to worsening economic crisis in Iran.

Meanwhile, internet service has been completely shut down across the country during the protests in Iran.

Internet monitoring group Netblocks confirmed the internet shutdown, saying it was unclear what the real reason for the internet shutdown was, but Iranian authorities have suspended the internet during protests in the past.

It should be remembered that for the past 12 days, people in Iran have been protesting against inflation and a sharp decline in the value of the currency, and dozens have died during these protests.

The US president warned in an interview that if protesters were killed during the protests, he would respond to Iran in a strong and very harsh manner.
