President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday extended warm greetings to Christian citizens of Pakistan and Christian communities around the world on the occasion of Christmas.

In his message, President Zardari called Christmas a time of hope, peace, and compassion. He said the season’s message of love and service reminds everyone of the deep bonds that unite humanity.

The president also highlighted Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of Pakistan, rooted in freedom and equality for all. He cited Jinnah’s historic 1947 address to the first Constituent Assembly, emphasizing religious freedom and mutual respect among all citizens.

President Zardari praised the Christian community for its contributions to politics, national defense, education, literature, arts, music, healthcare, social welfare, and public service, saying their efforts strengthen national progress.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended heartfelt greetings to Christians in Pakistan and worldwide. He said Christmas conveys a universal message of love, peace, tolerance, and goodwill. He prayed that the birth anniversary of Hazrat Isa (AS) brings peace, stability, and prosperity to the Christian community and the country.

Highlighting the community’s role in Pakistan, the prime minister said Christians actively contribute to education, healthcare, and social harmony. He also acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, describing their efforts as a source of national pride.

The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring equal rights, freedoms, and opportunities for all citizens. He urged people of all faiths to work together for a strong, secure, and prosperous Pakistan, and concluded by extending warm Christmas greetings.
