Pakistan to tour West Indies for two-Test series in 2026

LAHORE: Pakistan Men’s cricket team will be returning to Caribbean next week. A two match test series is scheduled against West Indies for July-August 2026. It was confirmed on Wednesday by Cricket West Indies (CWI) Vice President Azim Bassarath.

The series will be a part of ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. The series is also aligned with Pakistan’s Future Tours Programme (FTP).

Bassarath made the announcement who also serves as the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB).

The announcement was made during an executive luncheon held at National Cricket Centre in Balmain. It was revealed by him that the series will comprise of two Tests in Trinidad. The tour will run from July 15 to August 7.

Vice President Azim Bassarath said “We will host the Pakistan tour of the Caribbean from July 15 to August 7, 2026, comprising a four-day warm-up match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, the first Test match at Queen’s Park Oval and the second Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy,”

The growing stature of Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA) was also highlighted by him. He noted that the venue has now achieved international accreditation. He further added “I am pleased to note that the Brian Lara Cricket Academy is now a fully accredited international venue capable of hosting matches in all formats,”.

As of yet only the tour window and the venues have been confirmed. The detailed match schedules are expected to be announced later by the respective boards.

West Indies and Pakistan share a long standing red-ball rivalry. Recent Test encounters have produced evenly matched contests. When the two sides met in January last year the series ended with a 1-1 draw.
