Pakistan, Iraq agree to boost political and economic relations

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar telephoned Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr Faud Mohammed Hussein on Wednesday.

Both leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iraq. They showed commitment to work for the betterment of both countries.

Ishaq Dar and Dr Faud Mohammed Hussein also emphasised improving cooperation in political and economic matters. They also stressed to strengthen people-to-people ties.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday to discuss matters of mutual interest.

Dar offered condolences over the tragic killing of three Chinese nationals in Tajikistan near the Afghan border. He also extended sympathies for those affected by the recent fires at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in Hong Kong. He said Pakistan stands in full solidarity with China during these difficult times.

Both sides also discussed Pakistan-China cooperation in various sectors, along with recent regional and international developments.
