RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sons have announced plans to travel to Pakistan. They are planning to visit in January to visit their father in Adiala Jail.
Suleiman and Kasim Khan, who reside in London, in an interview with an international news outlet revealed that they had applied for visas. They further added that they are expecting approval soon.
Imran Khan’s sons further added that they were informed that they will be welcomed, “We should hopefully be going in January. We have applied for our visas. It hasn’t come through yet, but we are expecting it.”
Earlier, Khawaja Asif Pakistan’s Defence Minister in an interview with journalist Mehdi Hasan addressed the growing concerns regarding the safety of former Prime Minister’s sons, Suleiman Khan and Qasim Khan.
He stated that PTI propaganda on social media will spread rumours that the boys will face harm or arrest if they visit their father who is currently imprisoned. Khawaja Asif emphasized that nothing like this would happen.
Mehdi Hasan further asked that will they be allowed to meet their father without facing any consequences. To which Asif firmly responded with “They won’t be arrested. They won’t be harmed,”.
Mehdi further asked Asif if he could personally guarantee their safety. The Defence Minister without any hesitation said “I give you my guarantee that they can come and visit their father and safely return,”.
Imran Khan’s medical checkup
Imran Khan was recently visited by a five-member medical team from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Jail The carried out his medical examination. Sources from Jail assured that PTI’s founder is fit.
It was reaffirmed by authorities that he receives proper food and security. They also confirmed that news about his transfer from Adiala Jail are incorrect.
