Kohat: The allegations have raised of widespread use of government resources during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public gathering held in Kohat, drawing strong criticism from various quarters. On the arrival of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi the local administration reportedly carried out special measures, including road cleaning and improvement of access routes.

According to eyewitnesses, government machinery was deployed on several highways and main roads prior to the PTI rally in Kohat. Roads were cleaned and passages leveled, with videos of these activities circulating widely on social media. The footage clearly shows sanitation staff and government vehicles in operation, sparking fresh debate in political circles.

Local residents and eyewitnesses claim that the government resources are being used for the PTI Kohat rally. The locals also alleged that these steps were taken ahead of the chief minister’s arrival to present improved arrangements for the public gathering.

It is noteworthy that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has, on several occasions in the past, announced that government resources would not be used for rallies, processions, or political activities. The videos and eyewitness emerged ahead of the Kohat rally which have raised serious questions about these claims.

According to locals that it would not only be a contradict but also counter the claims of transparent governance if provincial government resources were indeed used for political gathering.

So far, neither PTI nor the district administration has issued an official statement on the issue. Meanwhile, the matter continues to trend on social media, with various groups calling for a thorough investigation.
