Pakistan U19 crush Malaysia by 297 runs in Asia Cup opener

Dubai: Pakistan took a dominant start to their ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 campaign. Sameer Minhas and Ahmed Hussain both scored centuries. Pakistan registered a 297-run victory over Malaysia at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai on Friday.

Seven players which include Daniyal Ali Khan, Ali Hassan Baloch, Hamza Zahoor, Mohammad Sayyam, Huzaifa Ahsan, Sameer and Niqab Shafiq made their maiden appearance for Pakistan U19. They all contributed to an all-round memorable performance.

Pakistan was asked to bat first and was able to score a formidable 345 runs after losing 3 wickets. The player of the match 19-year-old Sameer scored an unbeaten 177. He scored 8 sixes and 11 fours in his 148-ball knock.

However, it was not just Sameer who contribute to the massive 345 runs. He made a 293-run partnership with Ahmed Hussain who also scored an impressive 132 off 114 balls. He smashed two sixes and eight fours.

Pakistan bowling attack was as good as its batting. From the start Malaysia struggled. Malaysia was all out for 48 in 19.4 overs.

On Sunday, 14th December Pakistan will now be facing India at the ICC Academy Ground. The match will start at 9 am local time.
