Lieutenant General Abdul Qayyum termed the propaganda war as the enemy’s second most potent weapon, stating that a systematic effort is ongoing on social media to target the armed forces, particularly Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir. He expressed regret that some political elements are using this narrative for their own purposes.

Referring to the recent statement of DG ISPR, he said that certain PTI leaders and elements within and outside the party are strengthening Indian propaganda, thereby harming national security. He demanded strict action against all such elements.

They also said that to tackle national challenges, it is necessary to follow Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of unity, organization, and firm belief. They urged political leadership, the media, state institutions, and the public to prioritize national security over personal interests.

Discussing regional economic relations, Lieutenant General Abdul Qayyum appreciated Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s offer to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to allow the use of Pakistani ports. According to him, Pakistan has strong potential to provide major trade routes to Central Asian countries; however, for this, the Afghan Taliban must fully cooperate in disarming and neutralizing terrorist groups.

The PAF president welcomed the proposed review of the 7th NFC Award, stating that all provinces should participate fairly in addressing national burdens such as defense requirements, debt repayment, development strategies, and climate issues.

At the conclusion of the press conference, PAF leadership emphasized the need to create a joint national narrative for development, security, and national unity.
