Islamabad: Director General ISPR, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, announced the launch of the Chief of Defence Forces Headquarters, marking a major milestone in the country’s defense structure.

DG ISPR, the establishment said of the new headquarters had long been a strategic necessity, and its inauguration is being welcomed as an important step toward strengthening joint operational capabilities of the armed forces. He has said that an individual has become a threat to country security due to his actions and narrative.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, the DG ISPR stated that while that one person keeps claiming he has done nothing, his politics has come to an end, and his narrative now poses risks to national stability.

He criticized a political figure for claiming If not me, then nothing, saying that the individual’s political relevance has already ended.

He emphasized that the elimination of negative narrative has becoming for national stability. Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif said that we are safeguarding the country nothing more and armed forces are not pursuing any agenda.

He said that the Pakistan Armed Forces do not pledge to any political ideology linguistic group, or religious agenda.

He said that Pakistan Armed Forces are making sacrifices every day for the motherland and its people. We are not part of any political agenda we are safeguarding the country. He stressed that no one would be allowed to create mistrust between the armed forces and the public.

DG ISPR stated that If anyone attacks the army for his personal mindset or self-interest, he will not be spared. He further said that the Pakistan Army respects all political parties and leaders, but would firmly prevent any attempt to provoke the public against the armed forces. He said that the uniform is a matter of pride for us and we will not allow anyone to incite the people against the armed forces.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif told reporters that the army has “nothing to do” with discussions about governor’s rule. He emphasized that the decision rests entirely with civilian authorities, adding that the military would continue to operate within its constitutional role.

Transitioning to security concerns, the DGISPR warned that anyone who challenges what he described as a “political-terror nexus” becomes a target of “Khawarij,” a term security officials often use for militant extremists. He said the nexus threatens internal stability and must be confronted through coordinated state action.

Addressing political tensions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the spokesman alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders had urged authorities to open “offices for Khawarij in Peshawar.” He did not provide additional evidence or context, and PTI has not yet issued a response.

Shifting to operational matters, the DGISPR said only two afghan refugee camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been vacated so far. He noted that 41 camps remain active due to provincial governments delaying tactics to repatriate afghan refugees.

The military, he said, is maintaining a “focused and sustained” presence in the province as counterterrorism operations continue. He reiterated that the army remains committed to supporting civil administration and safeguarding the country’s internal security landscape.
