Lahore: Solar Users of Punjab can now earn financial rewards under a new initiative by the provincial government aimed at promoting energy efficiency and environmental protection.
Green Credits for Solar Users
The Environment Protection and Climate Change Department of Punjab shared a post on social media encouraging citizens to adopt solar appliances to save energy and improve the environment. “Save energy, improve the environment, use solar appliances, and earn Green Credits!” the post read.
Citizens using solar stoves, solar geysers, or energy-saving fans can now receive Green Credits as part of the program. Each Green Credit carries a value of 10,000 Pakistani rupees, meaning participants who qualify for a Green Credit will receive this amount.
Guidance and Helpline
The department also provided helpline numbers in the post for citizens seeking more information on how to participate and claim their Green Credits. Authorities hope the initiative will encourage wider adoption of renewable energy solutions across the province while promoting environmental sustainability.
