Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has demanded a full record of how billions of rupees allocated for Karachi were used, as the party renewed its focus on the idea of creating new provinces.
Speaking at a public gathering in Malir on Sunday, MQM-P Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that Karachi supports the entire country but still lacks basic infrastructure, including even a motorway. He said their role is not only to demand rights but also to make sure those rights are delivered and monitored.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said Sindh could be divided based on fundamental needs, adding that the water issue has remained unresolved for the past 14 years. He said if no one can solve Karachi’s problems, then the city should be handed over to the federal government.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori said it must be identified who is blocking Karachi’s development. He added that MQM has secured a development package from the federal government.
