petrol prices for December

ISLAMABAD: Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to drop by Rs 3.70 to Rs 6.35 per litre from December 1, 2025, offering some relief for consumers.

Officials say the government will announce the new rates on Sunday.

Early estimates, based on global market trends, suggest cuts across several petroleum products. Petrol may fall by Rs 3.70 per litre, while high-speed diesel could come down by Rs 4.28. Kerosene might see a small decrease of Rs0.73, and light diesel oil could drop by Rs6.35.

OGRA is expected to send its price summary to the Petroleum Division tomorrow. The Petroleum Division and the Finance Ministry will then forward their recommendations to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for final approval.

The revised prices will be implemented from Monday, December 1.

After the expected adjustment, petrol is likely to cost Rs261.75 per litre, and high-speed diesel around Rs280.12 per litre.

In the last fortnight, the government increased diesel prices by Rs6 per litre, while petrol rates stayed unchanged.
