PM Shehbaz travels to London for medical check-ups

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in London for a four-day stay to undergo multiple medical check-ups, the private media channel reported.

He landed at Luton Airport on Thursday evening, where Dr Muhammad Faisal, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, and Ahsan Dar, PML-N’s UK President, received him. The premier will stay at his Edgware Road flat until the weekend before returning to Pakistan.

Before arriving in London, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Manama, where both leaders discussed regional and international developments and reaffirmed the strength of their longstanding bilateral ties.

They held the meeting at Al-Safriya Palace, with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also in attendance.

King Hamad praised the historic and steadily growing relationship with Pakistan and appreciated Sharif’s efforts to deepen cooperation across all sectors. He emphasized Bahrain’s firm support for Pakistan’s security and stability and commended Islamabad’s handling of domestic and sovereign matters. He also thanked Pakistan for supporting Bahrain’s bid for a seat on the UN Security Council.

The king highlighted Pakistan’s honorable stance toward Bahrain, its support for Arab and Islamic causes, and its constructive contributions to regional and global peace and stability.

Sharif expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, and praised King Hamad’s commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s eagerness to further expand its partnership with Bahrain across multiple sectors.
