Islamabad – The government has implemented strict security measures during the arrival and transit of international cricket teams in Pakistan. Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, emphasized that these measures ensure the safety of players and spectators. “Security cordons are essential to maintain the continuity of international cricket in the country,” he said.

Citizens are urged to view minor delays positively. The minister added, “A short wait is necessary for security clearance. Everyone’s cooperation is vital.” Some residents have complained about traffic congestion caused by these measures. Addressing these concerns, Tarar said, “I am personally present on the route, and the teams are passing through safely.”

Cricket has returned to Pakistan after years of challenges, and the government aims to protect this hard-earned progress. “Cricket came back to Pakistan after a lot of hard work. To take it forward, everyone’s support is required,” he said.

Comparing local arrangements to global practices, Tarar noted that countries like Sri Lanka also maintain tight security due to past threats. “In Sri Lanka, strict security is normal because of LTTE-related concerns,” he explained.

The minister acknowledged that citizens often criticize minor inconveniences. “There is a tendency for immediate criticism here. Sometimes, people have to wait for 15 to 20 minutes, but this should be seen in a positive light,” he said.

He assured that conditions are steadily improving. “The situation is getting better day by day. In the future, such delays will be minimal,” Chaudhry added.

Officials said that these arrangements are temporary and focused solely on ensuring the safety of international players and the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. Authorities called on citizens to remain patient and supportive while these necessary security protocols are in place.

With international cricket returning, Pakistan aims to host matches safely and confidently, signaling a positive step for sports and national pride.
