The Lahore High Court has scheduled the bail petition of YouTuber Saad Rehman, known online as Ducky Bhai, for hearing. The court will take up the case on Monday. The development follows his arrest in a case linked to the promotion of an online gambling application.
Justice Shehram Sarwar will hear the petition. The plea names the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and other government departments as respondents. This shows that several state bodies are part of the process. It also signals that the case is being handled at multiple levels.
According to the petition, Rehman was arrested at the airport. He was preparing to travel abroad when officials detained him. His lawyer claims that the arrest came without warning. Advocate Imran Chadhar, representing Rehman, says the NCCIA never issued a notice or summoned his client before taking action. He argues that this violates basic legal procedure.
Chadhar further states that Rehman remained in custody for 22 days. He stayed on physical remand during this entire period. The defence calls the prolonged remand unnecessary. They maintain that Rehman was placed under pressure without clear justification. They also say that the investigation moved slowly despite the long detention.
The petition highlights that Rehman cooperated with the authorities. It adds that he did not resist arrest and answered all questions during interrogation. The defence argues that this cooperation should be considered while deciding the bail request.
As the hearing approaches, the case has drawn wide attention. Supporters of the YouTuber are closely following each update. Legal observers also note the growing public interest in cybercrime investigations. The court’s decision on Monday will determine whether Rehman secures temporary relief or remains in custody. The outcome is expected to set the tone for the next stage of the proceedings.
