Security forces and police in the Bannu region have successfully thwarted all major terror attacks following weeks of intensified operations. Officials say the coordinated response prevented large-scale violence that militants had planned across the area.

According to the report, militants attempted 10 attacks on police stations and posts, along with over 130 drone strikes. All attempts were disrupted through swift action by security teams.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Sajjad Khan personally supervised the operations. He confirmed that some pockets of Bannu still host militant hideouts, and extremists have repeatedly tried to target police installations.

The RPO said that despite these threats, modern equipment and strong public cooperation helped prevent major casualties. He added that the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police provided the region with extensive resources, including advanced weapons, bulletproof gates, and a double-wall security system.

These upgrades also enabled police to neutralize the militants’ drone attacks. The report notes that during various operations, 14 most-wanted militants were killed, while 22 others were injured.

RPO Sajjad Khan praised the public, stating that citizens once again stood firmly with the police in their fight against terrorism.
