Peshawar: Security forces killed 13 militants in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military said on Friday, as authorities intensified counterterrorism activities in the region.

Two Raids in Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops killed 10 militants during an operation in Lakki Marwat. In a second engagement in Dera Ismail Khan, three more militants were shot dead during an exchange of fire. ISPR said the fighters were involved in attacks on security personnel and civilians.

Weapons Seized and Areas Cleared

Troops recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the slain suspects. Meanwhile, forces continued sanitization operations in the surrounding areas to ensure the safety of residents. Officials said the clearing process aims to prevent the militants from regrouping.

Operations Expand Under “Azm-e-Istehkam”

The military stated that operations under the broader “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign have accelerated. ISPR alleged the militants were backed from abroad and reiterated that action against such groups would continue until their networks are dismantled.

Commitment to Restoring Stability

Security officials stressed that foreign-supported militancy will be rooted out and that all necessary steps will be taken to restore law and order in the province. They added that the latest operations reflect the government’s commitment to maintaining long-term stability in the region.
