Pakistan High Commission in Canada alerts on WhatsApp scam

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan High Commission in Canada has issued a warning about a scam involving a fake WhatsApp number falsely linked to its Google Maps location.

According to the Commission’s statement posted on X, an individual using the name Rana Usman Khalid has been demanding payments ranging from €250 to €450 in exchange for supposed “appointments.”

The High Commission clarified that it does not charge any fees for appointments, nor does it use WhatsApp for scheduling. Officials urged the public to rely solely on the official email address and verified phone numbers listed on travel.gc.ca for any communication or assistance.
