‘I am Shahbaz Sharif’s extension in Punjab,’ says Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that she sees herself as a continuation of prime minister Shahbaz Sharif for the development of Punjab.

“I am trained by him, I am trying to follow his footsteps. He is my mentor, and I am learning from the very best,” Maryam Nawaz said while talking to journalists in London.

“People had apprehensions about a female chief minister since there has been no female chief minister before me, in Punjab or the whole of Pakistan,” she mentioned.

“The people of Punjab have poured love on me. I never thought that I would get so much affection and acknowledgement. I have faced no hurdles. We work as a unit, as a team, for the development of Punjab,” Maryam Nawaz added.

CM Maryam Nawaz stated that after India’s defeat in the war between Pakistan and India, the world was now looking at Pakistan with a changed attitude.

Earlier, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in an interaction with journalists in London.  Maryam Nawaz said all the credit for winning the May war between Pakistan and India goes to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

She said that the role of Pakistan’s armed forces and particularly Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is admirable, adding that the image of Pakistan in the world is now getting better.

Chief Minister of Punjab will take part in COP30 Belem in Brazil and brief about Punjab’s flagship projects.

Maryam Nawaz will talk about Suthra Punjab, E Mobility, and climate change in the event.

The Chief Minister will inform the participants of the COP30 about Wild Life reforms in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz will also meet the important officials of UNDP and other significant personalities in Brazil.

The meeting of Maryam Nawaz with the Global Director (Climate Change) of the World Bank is also scheduled.
