Islamabad: Approval of the 27th Amendment seems imminent says Senator Faisal Vawda after he met Maulana Fazal ur Rehman today. Senator Faisal Vawda emphasized the longstanding importance of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in safeguarding the country’s security, saying the veteran leader has always played a key role in matters of national interest. He added that their relationship is built on mutual respect and that both sides had addressed all issues during their recent meeting.

27th Amendment Will Strengthen Federal Powers

Vawda stated that the government will consult Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman regarding the 27th Amendment, emphasizing that it is a measure crucial for strengthening federal authority. Moreover, he said, “The numbers are already sufficient, and there is no issue regarding their approval,” while also adding that the 18th Amendment will not be rolled back. Furthermore, he noted that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman will review the proposals carefully and provide his assessment.

Warnings on Political Unrest and Support for Youth Leadership

Addressing political dynamics in Islamabad, Vawda cautioned against attempts to create unrest, warning that disruptive actions could face legal consequences. At the same time, he welcomed young political figures, including Sohail Afridi, urging them to pursue constructive and positive engagement for PTI’s agenda.

Strengthening National Defense and Strategic Preparedness

Vawda highlighted that modern warfare extends beyond land, sea, and air, encompassing cyber, narrative and economic dimensions. He stressed the need to empower Pakistan’s armed forces, asserting that a stronger military ensures robust national defense. He reaffirmed that necessary amendments for defense and federal stability, including the 27th Amendment, will be implemented, calling for PTI’s cooperation and confidence in the process.
