Senior provincial minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the government has first time implemented emergency measures to reduce the smog in Punjab.
Punjab’s minister mentioned while talking to media that the winds drifting from India contaminating the air in the province. She stated that the air quality monitoring devices have been placed all over Punjab.
She stated that the professional teams immediately reported to the spot where they located smoke and took action according to the law.
“It is seasonal smog which lasts only for three months,” Marriyum Aurangzeb added.
She told the media that the Punjab government is purchasing additional smog guns, which will help to enhance the air quality, “We didn’t say that these guns end the smog”.
“We have introduced the technology, AQI app, and portal,” the provincial minister said.
She urged children and the elderly should wear face masks in the morning while going to schools or offices.
Punjab minister also said that the work on the first climate observatory of the region is being rapidly completed.
