Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will reach in Pakistan today for a two-day state visit from October 23 to 24 to discuss on the wide range of bilateral relations between the two countries.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said that Sikorski is coming to Pakistan on the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar. It has also been confirmed in the statement that it’s a second visit of Sikorski as he had previously visited Pakistan in 2011.
DPM Ishaq Dar will host a one-on-one meeting as well as a ministerial meeting with his Polish counterparts. Both political leaders are likely to talk about a wide range of bilateral relations. The two sides’ leaders will do a joint press conference after in in-person meeting.
According to the Foreign Office, “the Polish high-up’s visit marks a significant milestone in Pakistan–Poland relations […] Pakistan remains committed to enhancing cooperation with Poland for the mutual benefit of both countries.”
In a statement from the Foreign Office, relations between the two countries have strengthened in political, economic, defence, and educational sectors, highlighted by mutual respect and partnership.
Based on the figures, the total value of mutual trade between Pakistan and Poland in 2023 was $922 million. Pakistan’s external trade to Poland amounted to $794 million and purchases from Poland were estimated at $128 million.
Back in July, Pakistan and Poland conducted the 9th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) in Warsaw. Both countries assessed the various aspects of mutual ties.
