Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of RUA Al Haram Al Makki Company, announced the launch of the massive King Salman Gate development.
Located right next to AL Masjid AL Haram (the Grand Mosque), this is more than just a real estate project; it’s a critical component of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, designed to significantly enhance the spiritual and cultural journey for millions of pilgrims while injecting powerful momentum into the regional economy.
A Stunning Capacity Boost
The most interesting aspect of the King Salman Gate is its sheer scale for worship.
The integrated development will carve out nearly 900,000 new indoor and outdoor praying spaces.
That’s a staggering addition, designed to significantly ease the intense crowding and improve the comfort level for those performing Hajj and Umrah.
Covering a total gross floor area of 12 million square meters, the mixed-use development will be a fully functional destination, featuring:

The project is being driven by RUA AL Haram AL Makki Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), placing it directly within the scope of the government’s Pilgrim Experience Program.

Plans for restoring and enhancing around 19,000 square meters of local heritage sites prioritise the protection of the city’s cultural and historical identity for the years to come.
