Golden visa , Emirates good news to foreigners

⏱ 2 minute read

The UAE has announced a major extension to the ten-year Permanent Resident Golden Visa plan. Under this plan, foreign residents will now also be given consular facilities that were previously reserved for Emirati citizens only. As announced by the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 10-year Renewable Golden Visa holders will now be provided with assistance in the event of an emergency or crisis abroad. This visa is a 10-year self-supporting residence permit that allows the holder to live, work or study without a sponsor, Golden Visa holders do not require sponsorship from a company or person for employment or stay, which also facilitates job change. Unlike ordinary visas, Golden Visa holders can retain their visa even if they have been abroad for more than 6 months, similarly holders can sponsor their sons up to the age of 25, while children with special needs can remain sponsors at any age. Golden visa holders can sponsor as many domestic workers as they want. Individuals who wish to apply for a Golden Visa are granted a 6-month multiple-entry visit visa to complete the documents. In addition, Golden Visa holders are exempt from certain restrictions under UAE Labour Laws and have greater freedom to change jobs. The Golden Visa primarily aims to provide long-stay opportunities in the UAE to able, creative and invested individuals, in line with the country's Vision 2030 goals.
