Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has announced a fully funded PhD scholarship under the US Pakistan Knowledge Corridor project for Pakistani students wishing to pursue higher education in the United States. Under this program, eligible Pakistani scholars will be given the opportunity to enroll in the world's first-ever universities that are among the 300 best US universities in the global QS rankings. The project is designed to further strengthen the academic relationship between Pakistan and the United States, as well as to train Pakistan's human resources in advanced research and academic fields. Through this program, Pakistani scholars will not only acquire advanced research skills but will also play an important role in the scientific, educational and technological development of the country. Scholarships will consist of two categories according to the HEC. The first category includes the top 50 ranked US universities in the world where all costs, including tuition fees, monthly stipends, and health benefits, will be provided to selected students. In the second category, students will receive aid in the form of education fees, scholarships and medical facilities up to US $12,000 per year for universities from 51 to 300. The program is part of HEC's ongoing efforts to expose Pakistani students and professionals to the international research environment and innovative academic trends so that they can play an effective role in the development of the country.
