Quetta attack foiled as security forces kill five terrorists

Web desk: After suffering defeats in recent operations, India-backed proxy groups have continued attempts to launch terrorist activities inside Pakistan, according to security sources.

On 30 September, at 11:36am, a suicide blast took place in Quetta. Immediately after the explosion, five foreign militants tried to storm the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters.

Security forces responded swiftly, preventing the attackers from entering and killing all five outside the compound walls.

Officials said heavy weapons, explosives, and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

Security sources added that in the past month alone, forces had already eliminated more than 60 terrorists from the Indian-linked proxy group “Fitna al-Khawarij” in different areas of Zhob.

Previously, Security forces foiled a terrorist attack in Quetta on Zarghoon Road, killing five members of the India-sponsored group Fitna al Hindustan.

According to initial reports, a powerful explosion left at least five civilians dead and more than 20 others injured.

Security officials said the assault was carried out by militants of Fitna al Khawarij. The suicide bomber, dressed in an FC uniform, was accompanied by five other attackers.

All six terrorists, including the bomber, were eliminated during the swift response by security personnel. Two FC soldiers sustained injuries in the exchange of fire and blast but were later reported to be out of danger.

Rescue teams confirmed that the dead and injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. They added that the death toll later rose to 10 after some of the wounded succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar also confirmed 10 fatalities in the incident, saying the injured were being treated at different hospitals in the city.
