Petrol price in Pakistan

The federal government has released new fuel prices for the remaining month of September. Petrol stays unchanged, while high speed diesel rises by Rs2.78 per litre.

The revised rates take effect at midnight and remain in place for fifteen days. Officials say the move balances consumer relief amid ongoing flood situation in Punjab and Sindh.

New fortnightly prices effective September 16

According to the Finance Ministry notification, petrol continues at Rs264.61 per litre. While, diesel moves to Rs272.77 per litre.

The revision follows the regular fifteen-day review. It reflects international trends and the exchange rate while keeping a steady hand on household costs through a flat petrol price.

The government says clarity on prices helps families plan fuel spending and allows businesses to schedule transport without disruption.

Context from previous review held at the start of September

At the last reset on September 1, petrol also held at Rs264.61. Diesel was cut by Rs3 to Rs269.99. Kerosene dropped Rs1.46 to Rs176.81, and light diesel fell Rs2.40 to Rs159.76.

Today’s update lifts diesel from that earlier level to Rs272.77, a change of Rs2.78. Motorists should check pumps after midnight to see the new tags.

Logistics operators may adjust freight quotes, but a stable petrol rate offers some cushion for urban commuters and ride hail users.

Authorities will continue fortnightly reviews to safeguard fair pricing while ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum goods across Pakistan.
