WEBDESK: Singer Hadiqa Kiani has called on the public to donate relief supplies and volunteer to help people and livestock affected by floods in Kasur.
During her visit to the flood-hit areas on Sunday, Kiani said immediate help was needed in the form of food, clothing, bedding, and medicine. She also urged donors to provide jackets and blankets to help residents through the winter months.
Kiani invited doctors to set up medical camps in the affected areas, warning that residents are at risk of diseases like malaria. She also highlighted the dire condition of livestock, much of which has been lost in the floods. Remaining animals require fodder, medicine, and veterinary care.
Donation points have been set up at Lahore’s Dolmen Mall (entrance 2), Fortress Stadium, Sheikhupura’s Circuit House, Kasur’s District Public School, and the Government Guru Nanak College in Nankana Sahib. Donors unable to give in person can send contributions to the Army Relief Fund for Flood Affectees.
Kiani has a history of leading relief operations. During Pakistan’s 2022 floods, her Vaseela-e-Raah campaign not only provided immediate assistance but also adopted villages, building houses, schools, maternity clinics, and mosques in affected areas including Balochistan.
