Cases of dengue fever have increased quite rapidly in Sindh with the onset of the winter. In the prior 24 hours, more than 100 patients were reported in the Sindh.
Karachi division had the highest number of patients who were admitted to government hospitals with 31 new cases of dengue patients, and then came Hyderabad with 24 cases of dengue patients.
As it is reported by the Director General Health Sindh (DGHS) every day, 81 new cases of dengue patients were admitted to the government hospitals of Sindh within the last 24 hours, and 59 new cases have been registered in the private hospitals now; the total number of patients admitted to hospitals is 128.
According to the DGHS, 5,893 dengue tests have been done in the past 24 hours with 695 being positive. Karachi laboratories proved 194 cases and Hyderabad had a much greater number with 301 positive results.
The report also indicates that 95 patients have been discharged and have recovered in government hospitals and 68 patients in the private hospitals. Until now, there are no dengue related deaths.
DGHS has encouraged the population to practice preventive measures and keep the household and the streets clean and visit the closest hospital or health facility promptly in case of any suspected symptoms.

Two more citizens died due to the deadly spread of the dengue virus in the port city. The provincial Director General (DG) Health said that in the last 24 hours, almost 90 dengue patients got hospitalised in different hospitals of Karachi.
The Director General (DG) Health Sindh also issued a new report on the dengue situation throughout the province.
The DG confirmed that in the last 24 hours, 90 patients of dengue were hospitalised in public hospitals; however, 85 other patients got admitted in Karachi’s private hospitals.
According to the new report by DG Health Sindh, 249 patients are getting treatment in the government hospitals of Karachi. The report revealed that 160 dengue patients are currently under treatment in private hospitals in the metropolis.
The Sindh Health Department also confirmed that almost 556 beds are allocated for dengue patients in the private hospitals. On the other hand, 220 beds are reserved for patients of the same disease in the private hospitals.
